January 2026
A STEADY START TO THE YEAR DESPITE WINTER CONDITIONS
January has been a challenging but productive month for Paul Dyke Building Services, with steady progress made across sites despite a prolonged period of cold and frosty weather.
At Mark Close, works have continued following the Christmas break, with careful management of the site during sub-zero temperatures. Strip-out works and groundwork preparation have progressed alongside one another, allowing the site to be properly prepared for the next stages of construction. Drainage and floor preparation works have moved forward where conditions allowed, helping to establish solid bases ready for build-up as the weather improves. A big thank you goes to Alston Natural Stone, who supplied sub-base and hardcore materials, supporting the project with reliable local supply.
Throughout the month, Travis Perkins have continued to play an important role as part of the wider team, providing materials, support, and consistency during a period where planning and sequencing have been key.
Meanwhile, our Ulverston project has continued to move comfortably forward during January. We’ve been working closely with our extended team, and it’s been a pleasure to join forces with Ben Turner Joinery, whose skill and attention to detail continue to add real value to the project. We’ve also been working alongside Peter Jackson at Ulverston, whose experience, professionalism, and steady approach have made him a real asset on the job — long may that collaboration continue.
Despite the seasonal challenges, January has been a positive month focused on preparation, teamwork, and maintaining momentum. With the groundwork now in place, we’re well positioned to move forward confidently as conditions improve.
December 2025
FOUNDATIONS LAID AS A STRONG YEAR COMES TO A CLOSE
December has been a busy and rewarding month for Paul Dyke Building Services, rounding off the year with solid progress across multiple projects and setting a strong platform for 2026.
At Mark Close, works are now well underway. The dig-out was completed, foundations were poured, and blockwork has progressed up to DPC level. It’s been a great start on site, with everything running to plan and the project moving forward confidently as we head into the new year. Support from Travis Perkins Brampton has been invaluable in keeping materials flowing and the programme on track during the early stages of the build.
Alongside this, our long-running Ulverston refurbishment, which we’ve been working on since the summer, has continued to move steadily toward completion. With major elements now coming together, the site is approaching a stage where scaffold can soon be struck. A big thanks goes to Travis Perkins Ulverston for their continued support on this project throughout the year.
We’d also like to give a mention to Carlisle Window Systems, who successfully installed the ground-floor windows at Ulverston before Christmas, helping to get the building sealed up ahead of any harsher winter weather.
As the year draws to a close, we’d like to thank our clients, suppliers, and everyone who has supported us throughout 2025. It’s been a productive year, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum as we move into 2026.
